WEEE Directive
At BigBuild Technology, we are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact by adhering to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2013. These regulations are designed to reduce the environmental harm caused by electrical and electronic waste.
What is WEEE?
WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, covering products that require electricity to function, including items with a plug, battery, or electrical components. Proper disposal of these products at the end of their life cycle is essential to prevent environmental and health hazards.
Our Responsibility
As a producer of electrical and electronic equipment, BigBuild Technology is registered with the Environment Agency and complies with the WEEE Regulations. We fulfil our obligations by:
- Financing Recycling Efforts: We contribute to the collection, treatment, and recycling of WEEE from designated collection facilities (DCFs) across the UK.
- Consumer Guidance: We provide clear information on responsible disposal methods for WEEE.
- Product Labelling: Our products are marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol, indicating they should not be disposed of with general household waste.
Reducing WEEE
We encourage you to reduce WEEE by:
- Repairing Products: Consider repairing faulty products instead of replacing them.
- Reusing Products: Donate items you no longer need to others who can use them.
- Choosing Long-Lasting Products: When making new purchases, opt for durable products with a longer lifespan. That's why we try our best to select the best quality products that not only fulfil the need but also last longer.
Why Recycle?
Electrical equipment is the fastest-growing type of waste in the UK. Properly disposing of it in landfills can lead to environmental contamination. Recycling electrical items helps conserve natural resources and protects the environment from hazardous substances.
What to Recycle
Recycle all types of electrical items, from small memory cards to large appliances. Look for the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on products to identify recyclable electronics.
How to Dispose of Your WEEE
When your BigBuild Technology product reaches the end of its life, please dispose of it responsibly:

-
